Our Story
From Legacy to Landmark
Our Legacy
A Family Firm,
Built Over Generations
LandBank Developments is the newest chapter in a Calgary family business with roots dating back to the 1960s.
The story begins with Brian Sidorsky, whose first business grew from a small Calgary furniture store into Sidorsky’s Furniture World, one of the city’s most recognized furniture and appliance retailers.
That early success became the foundation for Lansdowne — a real estate company built through ownership, patience, and a belief that well-held property can shape lasting value.
LandBank carries that history forward with a sharper focus on development, rental housing, and the next generation of the portfolio.

Our History
Six Decades,
One Throughline
Where It Began
1967–1980
Sidorsky's Furniture World

Our story did not begin with land. It began with a single furniture store. Opened by Brian Sidorsky in 1967, the business grew into Sidorsky’s Furniture World, a Calgary retail name built on service, salesmanship, and trust.
It was the first chapter in a longer story of entrepreneurship, reinvestment, and long-term thinking.
A New Foundation
1980s
From Retail Success to Real Estate Investment

In 1981, Sidorsky’s Furniture World was sold to The Brick. The sale marked a turning point. Retail had built the foundation. Real estate became the next horizon.
Through Lansdowne, the family began acquiring, developing, and managing property with a long-term view, building for the future.
Lansdowne Takes Shape
1990s–2000s
Growth Across Southern Alberta

Over the following decades, Lansdowne grew into a diversified real estate company with interests across commercial properties, residential projects, property management, manufactured-home communities, and strategic land holdings.
The portfolio was built patiently. Assets were acquired to be managed, improved, and held through changing market cycles. That discipline became the throughline from Lansdowne to LandBank.
Diversifying the Portfolio
2020s
Residential Development Expansion

In the 2020s, Lansdowne expanded further into purpose-built rental housing. Elliston Village, first started in 2020, marked a new stage in that evolution: a purpose-built rental townhome community designed for long-term ownership and professional management.
It was a natural extension of Lansdowne’s history — moving from held land and commercial assets into rental communities built for the way people live today.
